MEMBERSHIP LEVELS

A.    A Social Member may participate in all social events, but may not participate in activities requiring a diver certification card. A social member shall have voting privileges only for election of the Social Director.

B.    An Associate Member may vote on any matter except constitutional amendments and the election of officers, and may participate in all social events and all Association diving activities for which qualified.

C.   A Full Member shall have full voting privileges, may attend all Association meetings and all social events, and may participate in all Association diving activities for which qualified.

D.   All persons who have been members for twenty-five consecutive years shall be given honorary Family life time membership. They shall have all the privileges and obligations of other full members except that they shall not be required to pay dues.

 

QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

A.    SOCIAL MEMBER

1.     Shall have paid part of a family membership or $5.00 or the annual mailing cost per individual which ever is greater.

B.    ASSOCIATE MEMBER

1.     Shall be a certified scuba diver with at least basic certification or a junior scuba certification if at least one parent is an Association member.

2.     Shall subscribe to the principles and purposes of the Chicago Aquanauts.

3.     Shall have paid dues.

C.   FULL MEMBER

1.     Shall have been an associate member and have been checked out by the Dive Coordinator or the Dive Coordinator’s designated representative.
This approval shall be recorded in writing.

2.     Shall have been investigated and approved by a majority of the full members present at a duly constituted meeting after having participated in at least three Association activities as an associate member.

3.     Shall subscribe to the principles and purposes of the Chicago Aquanauts.

4.     Shall have attended at least three Association activities during the previous calendar year except that this provision shall not apply to new members after having been admitted to full membership.
